Beschreibung

Compatible with Transport Fever 3 build 40425 (the October 22 stability update and its hotfix), tested in game.

Fixed in 1.5: with too little money the mod built the stops and lines but no buses, and still said Done. Build is now off until you can afford the plan, and any bus that can't be bought is reported with the reason.

New in 1.4: Uses your existing stops

Stops and bus stations that no line uses yet now become part of the loops, kept exactly as they are with their own names. Place stops where you want them and let the mod run the loops through them, or delete the two loop lines and build again to reuse the old stops. Stops and stations your own lines use are still left alone.

Also new: the card tells you why it can't find a depot, and the Done message shows what the new stops cost.

Beta: feedback welcome! Please report anything odd in the comments, with the town and what happened.

Sets up a town's starter bus service in one click: stops spread around the town, a clockwise and a counter-clockwise loop through them, and buses on both loops.

How to use it

  • Open any town's window and find the Auto City Bus Lines card.
  • Press Plan bus loops. Pick the bus model (with its picture, capacity, speed, power and price) and how many buses per line (1 to 5).
  • The card shows the plan: how many stops, how much of the town they reach, and the cost of the buses.
  • Press Build.

What it builds

  • Double-sided small bus stops in the style of the current era, placed by catchment: as far out from the centre as possible so the service keeps up as the town grows, while still covering the centre. 4 to 8 stops depending on the town's size, with little overlap.
  • Stop at train stations, airports and harbours (on by default): each one in the town gets a loop stop on the nearest street, so passengers can transfer. Untick it on the card to skip this.
  • Each new stop is named after its direction from the town centre (e.g. Springfield North), or after the station it serves.
  • Stops your lines already use are left alone: they count as covering their area but aren't added to the loops, so your network isn't changed. Unused stops and bus stations are included (see above).
  • Two loop lines, clockwise and counter-clockwise, through all the loop stops.
  • Your chosen number of buses on each line, spread out around the loop so they don't run nose to tail.

Requirements and limits

  • A bus depot connected to the town's roads, within 4 km of the centre. Without one, the card tells you why before anything is built (none in range, how far the nearest is, or only a tram depot or maintenance building nearby).
  • Trams are not supported yet: buses only.
  • The plan's cost covers the buses; the price of the new stops (about $61,000 each) is shown once they're built.

Works with a controller on console. Achievements stay enabled. Pairs nicely with Auto Line Namer, which names the new lines automatically.
