Beschreibung

Passenger capacity follows the real vehicle. In the base game, the EW IV coach has 86 modelled seats but carries 26 passengers. With Realistic Seat Capacity it carries 86. A Mercedes-Benz eCitaro carries 88 instead of 20: 29 seated and 59 standing, like the real bus. Every vehicle with passenger seats is handled: trains, trams, buses, ships and aircraft, from the base game and from mods. === FEATURES === - Real vehicles For the vehicles on the mod's list, the number of passengers is taken from real-world sources (manufacturers, operators, encyclopaedias): the real vehicle's seats and standing places, independent of the 3D model. The list covers base game vehicles and popular mod vehicles and grows with updates. - 1 seat = 1 passenger for everything else Every vehicle that is not on the list, including future mods, uses its modelled passenger seats. Crew seats do not count. Vehicles with several compartments use the seats assigned to each one; compartments that share the same seats split them in proportion to their default capacity. - Never below default for modelled seats Vehicles with few modelled seats keep their original capacity, such as dining cars and bar coaches. Known real vehicles get their real numbers, even when these are lower than the game's default (a landau seats 4). - Shown in the purchase window Every vehicle's description ends with one line: its passengers, seated and standing, and whether the number comes from the real vehicle or from the modelled seats. It also says when the Capacity Limit cut the number, and how much comfort the standing places cost. - Balanced economy The game calculates price and running costs from capacity. After the new capacity is applied, the game's own cost formula is run again, so costs follow exactly as the game would set them. Income per passenger is unchanged. Vehicles whose author set the costs by hand are scaled the same way. - Running costs: your choice Larger vehicles cost more to run, but income only grows with the passengers you actually carry. On quiet lines the extra places can cost more than they earn. The setting "Running Costs" decides how much of the increase you pay: Follow capacity (default): the game's own formula for the new capacity. Half: half of the increase. Game default: the running costs the vehicle has without the mod, also when its capacity goes down. Example, EW IV coach (26 -> 86 passengers): 256,655 a year in the base game; 848,935 / 552,795 / 256,655 with the three choices. The purchase price always follows the capacity. - Standing room Buses and trams carry standing passengers on the free floor of their passenger room, at 4 passengers per m2. The driver's cab is not counted as floor, so early buses with a bonnet and trams with a cab at both ends get realistic numbers. Coaches whose seats fill the floor get little or no standing room. Buses before 1930 carry seated passengers only, as in reality. Standing places come on top of the seats, also with "Exact seats". Set "Standing Room" to Off for seats only. The calculation is fitted to the standing places of 31 real buses and trams from 1892 to 2025. - Crowding costs comfort The more of a vehicle's places are standing places, the lower its comfort, so passengers prefer seated options. Crowded city vehicles are efficient, not a money machine. With "Standing Room" Off, the game's own comfort is kept. - Realistic passenger weight The base game counts about 1200 kg per passenger, so full vehicles are far too heavy. Passengers now weigh what the standards say, luggage included: 80 kg on trains, trams and ships, 71 kg on buses, 84 kg on aircraft. - Realistic boarding Boarding speed per vehicle stays the same, so full vehicles stay longer at stops. Prefer the original stop times? Choose "Default" boarding time. Vehicles that also carry cargo then load their cargo faster too. - Mixed passenger and cargo vehicles Ships and aircraft that carry passengers or cargo get the new passenger capacity, and their cargo capacity stays exactly as it was. The purchase window lists every load option, for example the Dunara Castle: 44 passengers; 26 passengers + 20 cargo; 18 passengers + 20 cargo; or 40 cargo. Ships and aircraft that can run on cargo alone keep the game's running costs, so they do not run at a loss on cargo. Their purchase price follows the capacity. - Converted vehicles fixed Vehicles converted from Transport Fever 2 name their cargo the old way. Their cargo is translated to the Transport Fever 3 format. - Easy to add Add it to an existing save at any time. No game files are changed. === WHY DO I SEE FEWER PASSENGERS THAN THE CAPACITY? === The numbers come from real-world sources, independent of the models in the game. The model's author decides how many seats are built into a vehicle, and the game can only show passengers on those seats. So the model limits how many passengers you can SEE, not how many the vehicle carries. If a bus is modelled with 8 seats but the real one had 17, it carries 17 and shows 8 of them. Standing passengers are never shown. Prefer capacity from the modelled seats only? Choose "Modelled seats" under "Capacity Source". === ADDING THE MOD TO A SAVE === Mods are switched on per save in Transport Fever 3. - New game: tick the mod in the mod list when you set up the game. - Existing save: in Load Game, select the save, open its mod list, add Realistic Seat Capacity and load. The main menu's mod list only applies to new games. - Then save the game once. The save remembers its mods only from that point; loading an older save or autosave brings back the old mod list. - After an update, let the download finish before you switch the mod on. If the purchase window says the mod's files are from two different versions, reload the save or restart the game. === BEFORE REMOVING THE MOD === Removing the mod, or switching to settings that lower capacity, needs one step first: the game stops if a vehicle carries more passengers than its capacity allows. Let the vehicles unload (for example send them to the depot), save, and then change the mods. === SETTINGS === Per save, every option has a tooltip. - Passenger Capacity: Seats, at least default / Exact seats - Capacity Source: Real vehicle (where known, default) / Modelled seats - Capacity Limit: 2x / 4x / 8x / No limit (default 8x, in the base game only a few passenger ships and the Twindexx double-deck cars reach it) - Standing Room: Off / Comfortable (2 per m2) / Normal (4 per m2, default) - Passenger Weight: Realistic / Game default - Boarding Time: Realistic / Default - Running Costs: Follow capacity (default) / Half / Game default (the purchase price always follows capacity) - Trains, Trams, Buses, Ships, Aircraft: On / Off - Fix Converted Vehicles: On / Off === EXAMPLES FROM THE BASE GAME === Default -> with this mod: - EW IV coach: 26 -> 86 - Compartment Car: 12 -> 38 - Shinkansen 0 coach: 20 -> 100 (real) - Tupolev Tu-204: 70 -> 210 (real) - Postbus ET 13 (1913): 8 -> 17 (real: 17 seats, no standing room) - Mercedes-Benz eCitaro: 20 -> 88 (real: 29 seated + 59 standing) - Mercedes-Benz Citaro G articulated bus: 28 -> 150 (real: 45 + 105) - Mercedes-Benz O303 coach: 15 -> 49 (real: 49 seats) - Tatra T4 tram: 18 -> 97 (real: 20 + 77) - Stadler TINA tram: 60 -> 279 (real: 108 + 171) - Airbus H225 Super Puma: 12 -> 24 (real: 24) - TGV bar coach: 50 -> 50 (few seats, kept) === COMPATIBILITY === Works with all vehicle mods, including future ones: vehicles on the list get the real numbers, all others their modelled seats. Other capacity mods: set their passenger multiplier to 1x, in any order. Cargo multipliers work with any setting and in any order, because this mod never changes cargo. For example: - Vehicle Capacity Multiplier: passengers 1x. - Capacity Rebalance: its ships start at x3, so set the passenger sliders to x1.0. - Realistic Economy Overhaul: switch off its passenger capacity part. If another mod changes the capacity of train coaches after this one, the log says so (it checks the base game's EW IV coach with the default capacity settings). Prices and transport modes set by a vehicle's author are respected. Languages: English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, Italiano, Nederlands, Polski, Portugues, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Norsk. === FOR VEHICLE MODDERS === You can give the real figures of your vehicle in the model's metadata, and the mod uses them instead of counting the modelled seats: realisticSeatCapacity = { seats = 41, standing = 97 }, Standing places as published (about 4 per m2). Either value may be left out. They are used when a player chooses "Real vehicle (where known)". The field is read and removed again while the model loads. Players can use the same field to fix any vehicle themselves: a small local mod, loaded before this one, sets it in a loadModel modifier for the model paths they choose. Edits to this mod's own files are undone by every update. The purchase window then says the figures are "as given by the vehicle's author". === ALSO FROM THE SAME AUTHOR === Next Stop Displays: the next stop and the line number on bus, tram, train and ship displays, the same number on every vehicle of a line. Search for "Next Stop Displays" on mod.io.
