ETCS L2
Beschreibung
Swiss ETCS Level 2 trackside equipment for Transport Fever 3
ETCS Level 2 has been in regular service in Switzerland since 2007, first on the new line Mattstetten-Rothrist and in the Lötschberg base tunnel, later also in the Gotthard and Ceneri base tunnels. These lines have no lineside light signals. The train receives its movement authority by radio, and the driver reads the target and speed in the cab. Boards along the track mark the places where a movement authority can end, and balise groups tell the train its exact position. This mod adds these boards to Transport Fever 3.
- Five items: ETCS stop marker, ETCS location marker, level transition, announcement of commercial stop and balise group.
- The boards label themselves with a station code and a signal number. The code comes from the town.
- Modelled from original references: small mast with foundation, Z brackets, U bolts, and a cantilever mast for walls.
- When the front of your train passes a level transition, the ETCS notification sound plays in the cab view or while following the train.
The items
- ETCS stop marker (EHS): blue board with a yellow arrow and an identification plate. In the game it is a block signal.
- ETCS location marker (ESS): white board with a black arrow and a blue identification plate. Also a block signal in the game.
- Level transition: CAB start on the front and CAB end on the back of one mast. A waypoint that does not stop trains.
- Announcement of commercial stop: announces a stop and shows the station code in the name field. Also a waypoint that does not stop trains.
- Balise group: two Eurobalises in the middle of the track. It snaps to the track and has no signal function.
The arrow always points toward the track and follows the side you choose. EHS, ESS and the level transition come with their own balise group.
Options
- Side left / right (default left)
- Mounting standard / offset (EHS, ESS, commercial stop). Offset is the cantilever mast, which brings the board closer to the track.
- Mast yes / no (EHS, ESS, commercial stop). Leave the mast out for walls, tunnels or a catenary mast.
- Mast height 3.0 to 6.0 m (default 4.0 m)
- Speed range KGB (blue) / EGB (white) (EHS, default KGB)
- Balise yes / no (EHS, ESS, level transition)
- One-way
Identification plates
KGB is the conventional speed range up to 160 km/h. EGB is the extended speed range above 160 km/h, used for example on the new line and in the base tunnels. The mod labels the boards by itself:
- KGB (blue): station code on top, number below, for example LZN / 581P
- EGB (white): one line with P and a four-digit number, for example P4567
- Commercial stop: the station code in the name field
The station code comes from the name of the town the board belongs to. It has three or four letters and is unique on the map, for example Luzern LZN, Basel BSL, Zürich ZRH. The number is random and stays stored with the signal. New signals get a matching name right away.
You can set your own values in the signal name: [LZN](581P) for KGB, (P4567) for EGB, [LZN] for the code only. Other names such as "North exit" stay as they are, and the board then shows the code and number automatically.
- Station code: up to 4 letters or digits
- KGB number: 1 to 999 with P. EGB number: P and 1000 to 9999
Mod settings
ETCS signs available from: 2007 (realistic, default) or always.
Default track side of ETCS signs: left (default) or right. The build menu preselects this side.
ETCS notification at level transition: never, cab view only or always (default). The sound plays in either direction when the front of your train passes a level transition.

- Balisengruppe: zwei Eurobalisen in Gleismitte.
Optionen
- Seite links / rechts (Standard links)
- Befestigung Standard / Offset (EHS, ESS, Merktafel).
- Geschwindigkeitsbereich KGB (blau) / EGB (weiss) (EHS, Standard KGB)
- Balise ja / nein (EHS, ESS, Levelübergang)
- Einbahn
Kennzeichnung
