Roadcraft: City Signs — France
Beschreibung
Adds French EB10/EB20 city entry and exit signs to Transport Fever 3. Signs snap to existing roads, use the nearest in-game town name initially and are removed when their supporting road is demolished. Both mods are standalone and can be used alongside Roadcraft: European Road Signs.
The signs are cosmetic: they do not change vehicle speeds, right of way or traffic behaviour.
Change notes — Version 1.3
This version identifies the release; the Mod Hub may display a different version number.
- Added bridge placement with the usual Configure and delete tools, including automatic removal when the supporting road segment is demolished.
- Improved reliability when editing several signs in succession and when switching or closing controller menus.
- Added direct curb-distance adjustment during controller placement through the game’s native prompts.
- Improved sign-board shadows from both lighting directions.
- Extended posts slightly farther into the ground or bridge deck while preserving sign height.
How to use
- Open Road → Assets (the top menu is the one allowing the placement of bus stops) and select the EB10/EB20 entry or exit sign.
- Set Plate width and Distance from curb in the toolbar above the bottom asset menu. Widths: Automatic, 1.20, 1.80 or 2.40 m. Curb distances: 0–1 m in 0.25 m steps; the default is 0.5 m.
- Point at a road and move along the desired curb. Check the preview and click to place. Position and orientation follow the road.
- Press Escape to leave placement, or select another asset.
- Select a placed sign and open Configure. Choose automatic or custom naming, adjust the width or distance from the curb, or add an optional municipality line with commune de, or no prefix. Click Apply.
Signs can also be placed on bridges. Select them normally to edit their settings or use the regular delete tool to remove them. Signs are removed automatically when their supporting road segment is demolished. Tunnel placement is not supported yet.
Controller controls
Controller placement and settings have been tested with an Xbox controller on PC. Follow the game’s native controller prompts to access settings and return to placement. Console hardware and other controller families have not been verified.
The post-placement Configure text editor has also been tested with a controller.
Savegame compatibility
Existing signs keep their placement and settings. Any pending one-time refresh from an earlier version can finish when the save loads. A failed refresh retains the previous sign for retry after reloading.
The mod can be added safely to existing saves. Removing it also allows the save to be reloaded, but the street signs are replaced by placeholder models. These can then be manually deleted via the regular in-game delete tool. I'm working on a clean removal tool for a future version of this mod so that you can more easily change your mind mid-game.
