Beschreibung

Fourteen precision tools for building and fixing roads and railways, all in one panel. Connect any two points eleven different ways, lay parallel tracks, add junctions, sidings and passing loops, even out a gradient or signal a whole line in one go. Inspired by Network Tools for Cities: Skylines II.

How to use

Click the Network Tools button at the top left, pick a tool, set its options in the panel and click in the world. Every tool shows a live preview with its cost before you press Build. If the game refuses a build, the tooltip tells you which piece and why. Pick the road or track type from a searchable list with the build menu's own filters, or just build the type you start from.

Build

  • Connect: join any two points with arcs and straights, a loop, a smooth curve, a straight line, a single arc, an S-shift or a spline through points you click. Or let it find the route: the shortest path for a minimum radius, the same with eased transition curves, a helix that climbs to the other end, or a route that never gets steeper than the grade you set. Bridges and tunnels are added where the ground needs them, and changes of gradient are rounded off. Choose the bridge, tunnel and level crossing types, rebuild an existing road by replacing the stretch between two points, and check the planned route's height profile, coloured by how steep it is.
  • Parallel: build copies of a road or track beside it, for double track or a second carriageway.
  • Generate: place a ring road, an oval or a street grid.

Edit

  • Set slope: give a stretch an even gradient, an eased one or an arch.
  • Smooth: straighten a stretch or iron out its kinks.
  • Line up and Circle: spread a stretch's nodes evenly on a straight line or a circle.
  • Reverse: flip the direction of one-way roads and track.
  • Add node and Remove node: split a segment, or merge two back into one.

Rail

  • Signals: signal a whole line at once. Equal blocks, a fixed interval, by line speed or by count, plus signals at switches and before level crossings. Stations mode puts an exit signal (and an entry signal if you like) at every platform end, and Remove mode clears a stretch instead. Pick the stretch by clicking its two ends and choose how the route between them is found: straightest, shortest, fastest, flattest and more. New signals can be named after the nearest town like the game's own, or with a name you type.
  • Track upgrade: change a stretch to another track type, or add or remove its catenary. Signals stay.
  • Crossover: join tracks side by side with pairs of switches, single or scissors, across as many tracks as you pick.
  • Branch: a junction you drag out, or drop its end on another track to join it. Sidings and passing loops that follow the line's curves, with mirrored and bundled layouts for double track. Choose a turnout speed and the curves are sized for it. Signals at the switches if you want them.

Options for new roads

Electrification, tram tracks, bus lanes, locked development, player ownership and decorations apply to everything the tools build. Force new track onto bridges, into tunnels or onto the ground, or let the heights decide. The underground view works with every tool. Your settings are saved with each savegame.
