Vehicle Grade and Weight

Why is that train crawling? Vehicle Grade and Weight adds two readouts next to the speed under the camera view in the vehicle window: how heavy the vehicle is right now, and how steep the track or road under it is.

Features

• Weight: the vehicle's total weight, the empty weight plus the passengers and cargo on board. Hover it to see the split, for example "Empty 222 t · Cargo 5.5 t".
• Grade: the average slope under the whole vehicle in percent, + when climbing and − when descending. For a train it averages over the full length of the train, so it moves smoothly over a crest instead of jumping when the locomotive reaches the top.
• The arrow icon next to the grade tilts with the slope: flat, gentle (under 2%) or steep.
• Works for trains, trams, buses and trucks. Ship, aircraft and person windows are unchanged.
• Both readouts update live while the window is open, and hide while the vehicle is at a stop.

How to use

1. Open any train, tram, bus or truck window.
2. Read the weight and grade next to the speed, under the camera view.

Good to know

• Weights use the game's own numbers: each vehicle model's empty weight, and each cargo's weight per unit. A passenger counts as 1/6 t, a unit of coal as 1 t.
• Weight is shown in the unit set in your game's settings, and the grade uses your language's number format.
• Translated into all languages TF3 supports, as a best effort by a non-native speaker. Corrections are welcome in the comments.
• If another mod also changes the speed readout in the vehicle window, only one of the two can work.
• This is a cosmetic mod. It doesn't change the simulation, so achievements stay available, and you can add it to or remove it from existing saves.
