UK Class 381 - Virgin West Coast

HISTORY Virgin Trains operated the InterCity West Coast franchise from 1997 until 2019, running services on the West Coast Main Line and associated routes. Its fleet became especially associated with the Class 390 Pendolino and Class 221 Super Voyager. The British Rail Class 381, however, belonged to an earlier and separate proposal: an unbuilt dual-voltage Networker family electric multiple unit envisaged for south-east England. No Class 381 was built, and Virgin Trains never operated one. THIS MOD — ALTERNATIVE HISTORY This is a fictional Virgin Trains West Coast repaint of the proposed Class 381. It imagines the Networker concept in Virgin colours; it does not depict an actual Virgin fleet member. Includes a five-car electric multiple unit, passenger boarding and seating, animated doors, directional exterior lighting, 24-hour interior lights and Virgin-liveried TGA buy-menu icons. In-game capacity and performance values are mod settings rather than historical Class 381 specifications. NOTES Fictional livery; the real Class 381 was never built. In-game testing is recommended.
